10. Mr. Simmons

asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance what alteration there has been in the functions and activities of local war pensions committees since the Ministry of Pensions was merged with the Ministry of National Insurance; and what channels of consultation between his Department and the local war pensions committees exist under the new régime.

The answer to the first part of the question is "None." As regards the second part, consultation with committees can now take place through the much larger number of local offices provided by the combined Ministry.
