HC Deb 26 May 1954 vol 528 c385
30. Mr. Willey

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether he will make a statement on the discussions he had with the deputation of Northern Labour Members of Parliament on 8th April.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

At the meeting I agreed to make a further statement about the priority of the Tyne Tunnel scheme, which I did on 5th May. I also agreed to examine a number of road proposals mentioned by the deputation and to meet them again to discuss these.

Mr. Willey

Does the right hon. Gentleman appreciate that we believe and hope that he is trying to help us in the North-East, but that we wish he would not do it in such a flat-footed way?
