HC Deb 24 May 1954 vol 528 cc6-7
11. Mr. Willey

asked the Minister of Food what interests he is consulting about the distribution of fruit and vegetables.

Major Lloyd George

My Department has accumulated much information on this problem and has, from time to time, received the views of various sections of the industry. This material is now being examined.

Mr. Willey

Does the right hon. and gallant Gentleman remember that last week he said that before he could go any further, he would have to consult a large number of interests; and is he aware that, as we want him to go further, we should like him to speed up these consultations?

Major Lloyd George

My answer covers the point that we have received information from several sections of the industry, and that this is being examined at the moment.
