§ 5. Mr. Hastingsasked the Minister of Food what evidence he has as to how long evaporated milk can be stored without appreciable loss of vitamins or decrease of nutritional value.
§ Major Lloyd GeorgeI understand that there is no loss of vitamin A or riboflavin in evaporated milk stored at room temperature; and, as judged by investigations on sweetened condensed milk, no change in the biological value of the proteins after one year, and only very slight changes after from two to five years.
§ Mr. HastingsDoes the right hon. and gallant Gentleman anticipate disposing of all his present stocks of dried milk before any appreciable deterioration takes place?
§ Major Lloyd GeorgeI could not answer that question positively without notice, but I hope to be able to get rid of most of the stocks before that.
