§ 23. Mr. Pageasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether, having regard to the view expressed by the Director of Road Research of his Department, that annual inspection of all vehicles would cost £2½million and would hold out the hope of eliminating 20 per cent, of all accidents and saving £20 million, he will introduce legislation to make such inspection compulsory.
