§ 8. Mr. Championasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will make available to the House the Report of the Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation on the first five years of the work of that organisation.
§ Mr. Dodds-ParkerThe Secretary-General is preparing a personal report to the North Atlantic Council. If the Council decides to give it wider circulation, I will consider making it available to the House.
§ Mr. ShinwellOught we not, as one of the parties to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, to have made available to us the report of its activities? Is there any reason why we should be deprived of such information as it can give?
§ Mr. Dodds-ParkerOnly the Council can decide these points, but, of course, each Government will have the report.
§ Mr. ShinwellVery well, if that is the case could we be assured that the United Kingdom's representative on the Council will press that the report should be made available?
§ Mr. Dodds-ParkerI will certainly consider the right hon. Gentleman's suggestion.
