HC Deb 02 March 1954 vol 524 c1001
49. Mr. G. Thomas

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware of the difficulties in the way of people seeking to establish their own wholesale business in pharmacy, due to their inability to register for Purchase Tax purposes; and whether he will now ease the restrictions upon these people by extending the facilities for obtaining the necessary Purchase Tax certificate.

Mr. R. A. Butler

There are no restrictions on Purchase Tax registration special to wholesalers of pharmacy goods, and I could not make special arrangements for them.
