§ 4. Mr. Emrys Hughesasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many Treasury representatives are advising the Chief of Staff at the discussions in Washington.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterIf the hon. Member is referring to the recent visit of the Chief of the Imperial General Staff to Washington, the answer is "None, Sir."
§ Mr. HughesBut is it not absolutely essential that the Treasury should keep a watchful eye on any policy which might involve expenditure, and have not the Treasury been grossly neglectful?
