HC Deb 16 June 1954 vol 528 cc1954-5
48. Mr. Gooch

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General if he is aware that letters addressed to Mr. J. Wood, of East Cottage, Watereaton Manor, Kidlington, Oxford, are not delivered to that address but to the Manor House, the residence of the former employer of Mr. Wood; and what steps he is taking to ensure that Mr. Wood's correspondence is delivered direct to East Cottage.

The Assistant Postmaster-General (Mr. David Gammans)

Yes, Sir. The only access to East Cottage is through the private garden of the Manor House and the Post Office has no right of way over private land. Mrs. Wood has been informed that, if preferred, correspondence may be collected from Kidlington Post Office. Alternatively, it may be obtained from the postman on his round and this has latterly been done.
