HC Deb 15 June 1954 vol 528 cc1728-9
38. Mr. Lewis

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many of the staff employed in the Palace of Westminster, for which his Department have financial responsibility, have not received any in crease in their wage or salary since 1946.

Mr. R. A. Butler

I assume that the hon. Member's Question refers to staff whose salaries and wages are borne on the House of Commons Vote. General control of the personal remuneration of House of Commons staff is vested in the House of Commons Offices Commission. I understand that all full-time staff have received an increase in salary or wage since 1946.
