HC Deb 15 June 1954 vol 528 c1730
44. Mr. Lewis

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury the number of persons, for whom the Treasury have financial responsibility, other than Members of Parliament, who have not received any increase in their salaries, wages, allowances or pensions since 1946.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

I do not know what the hon. Member means by "persons for whom the Treasury has financial responsibility." So far, however, as whole-time civil servants are concerned, so far as I know the answer is "None, Sir."
