asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what public work projects are proposed for detainees in Kenya undergoing rehabilitation; and how far African representative bodies are being consulted in the choice of such projects.

Mr. Lyttelton

Irrigation, re-afforestation, soil conservation, bush clearing and road building are examples of such projects. They are prepared in consultation with African district councils.
