§ 37. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will issue a White Paper indicating the 1275 Government's plans for the future constitutional development of the Gold Coast.
§ Mr. LytteltonNo, Sir. I have nothing to add to the statement made on 28th April by my right hon. Friend the Minister of State.
§ Mr. HughesDoes not the right hon. Gentleman agree that such a plan should be stated well in advance in order to enable the Colony to make its own plans and to maintain consistency in constitutional policy?
§ Mr. LytteltonThe hon. and learned Gentleman is being a little impatient. It was only on 28th April that a very full statement was made about the constitutional advances for the Gold Coast which were at that time described as the last before responsible self-government.
