asked the Assistant Postmaster-General the total number of applicants waiting for telephone installation at the latest convenient stated date, in the county borough of West Ham; and the number of installations that have taken place in each of the years from 1945 until the latest convenient date.

Mr. Gammans

On 31st December, 1953, 1,250 applications were outstanding and 747 were in course of being met or under inquiry. As the second part of the reply contains a number of figures, I will, with permission, circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
