HC Deb 15 February 1954 vol 523 cc1629-30
18. Mr. Bartley

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether the survey to be made by the National Coal Board has yet enabled him to discuss with them the possibility of an adjustment of the selling price of coal to industrial consumers.

Mr. Geoffrey Lloyd

No, Sir. The survey is not yet complete.

Mr. Bartley

Is the Minister aware that he first promised to consider this review as far back as last July? Unless something is done to increase the price to industrial consumers, national industry will continue to subsidise private enterprise.

Mr. Lloyd

The inference the hon. Member draws is not correct.
