HC Deb 27 April 1954 vol 526 c1442
7. Lieut.-Colonel Lipton

asked the Secretary of State for War what accommodation has been allocated for British Service men and their families in the new buildings at Münchengladbach, Germany.

Mr. J. R. H. Hutchison

Over 1,000 married quarters and a full range of churches, clubs, cinemas, etc.

Lieut-Colonel Lipton

While this generous gift by the German Government is no doubt fully appreciated, especially as it is free of charge to the British taxpayer, will the hon. Gentleman give an assurance that until we have to pay for this accommodation no charge will be made to British Service personnel occupying it?

Mr. Hutchison

I should have to look into that, for it is a different question.
