As we are to part for such a very short time after Prorogation I propose today not to trouble hon. Members to stay to shake hands with me as is customary on these occasions. In this I am following what my predecessor used to do. I should like to make it clear that this does not arise from any diminution in my affection for hon. Members. It is simply in order to enable them to feel that they can depart whenever it suits their convenience.
