HC Deb 28 October 1953 vol 518 cc2775-6
14. Captain Orr

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General what was the representation of his Department at the conference held in London this year of the International Consultative Committee (Radio); and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Gammans

Twenty. The conference studied a wide variety of technical and operational radio questions with the object of formulating common standards and practices, and making the best possible use of the radio frequency spectrum, and its results are embodied in 90 different recommendations, reports, etc., which will be published in due course by the International Telecommunication Union.

Captain Orr

In view of the fact that the recommendations of these committees usually form the basis for international conferences and conventions, will my hon. Friend make these reports available to hon. Members?

Mr. Gammans

As soon as they are published, I will certainly arrange for them to be available, or at any rate for them to be put in the Library of the House.
