HC Deb 27 October 1953 vol 518 c2603
26. Mr. Patrick Maitland

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what progress has been made towards setting up a Clyde Valley River Purification Board.

Commander Galbraith

The local authorities concerned held a further meeting on 22nd September to discuss my right hon. Friend's proposals and, in the light of the views then expressed, he is now considering the publication of a draft order establishing a board.

Mr. Maitland

Is my right hon. and gallant Friend aware that the news will be greatly welcomed by all who live along the Clyde, particularly by anglers?

Mr. McInnes

Is the right hon. and gallant Gentleman aware that what the local authorities discussed was not the D.S.I.R. report but the report of a subcommittee of an ad hoc body to which the report was referred?
