HC Deb 23 November 1953 vol 521 c23
39. Miss Ward

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will report on the result of the discussions with the German Federal Government on the subject of the captured German documents.

The Joint Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (Mr. Douglas Dodds-Parker)

Discussions are still proceeding and I am not yet therefore in a position to make a statement.

Miss Ward

Will my hon. Friend kindly convey to the Foreign Secretary that it is over a year since the negotiations started? Would he ask for an assurance from his right hon. Friend that the views of the countries which were occupied by Germany will also be considered in relation to this whole matter?

Mr. Dodds-Parker

All these points are, of course, being taken into consideration. We must co-ordinate our inquiries with those of our United States and French friends.
