Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to increase the borrowing powers of the British Overseas Airways Corporation and the British European Airways Corporation, it is expedient to authorise such increases—

  1. (a) in the sums issued out of the Consolidated Fund under section ten of the Air Corporations Act, 1949, being sums required by the Treasury for fulfilling guarantees given under that section;
  2. (b) in the sums paid into the Exchequer under that section, being sums received by way of repayment of any sums so issued, 1039 as may be attributable to the provisions of the said Act raising the limit on money borrowed by the British Overseas Airways Corporation from sixty million pounds to eighty million pounds, and the limit on money borrowed by the British European Airways Corporation from twenty million pounds to thirty-five million pounds.—[Mr. Lennox-Boyd.]
