§ Mr. J. StuartRegular consultations take place between my Department and the Development Corporation on this and other matters and my noble Friend the Minister of State is having a further meeting with the chairman of the Corporation on 12th November.
§ Mr. HamiltonIs the Secretary of State fully cognizant of all the peculiar difficulties in attracting new industry to this area? In the circumstances, will he consult further with the President of the Board of Trade to see what more can be done to attract new industry to this rapidly developing mining area?
§ Mr. StuartI am aware of the hon. Member's very natural anxiety on the subject and I am glad to say that we have had a few tentative inquiries recently about the establishment of new industry in the area. The President of the Board of Trade and I will certainly do all we can to encourage this development.
