HC Deb 10 November 1953 vol 520 cc782-3
54. Mr. Lewis

asked the Prime Minister whether as a means of improving friendly relations between the two countries, he will try to arrange for an exchange of parliamentary delegations between Great Britain and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

The Prime Minister

I would refer to the reply given to the hon. Member by my right hon. and learned Friend the Minister of State on 29th June last.

Mr. Lewis

Yes, but that reply was not at all satisfactory. In view of the progress which has been made since then, will not the Prime Minister reconsider this question and perhaps give it his favourable consideration, because this is something which would be beneficial to both sides?
