HC Deb 09 November 1953 vol 520 c586
32. Mr. Dodds

asked the Minister of Supply what progress has been made in recent months in producing suitable helicopters for passenger transport services and for military purposes.

Mr. Sandys

Three types of single-engined helicopters with from four to eight seats are now in production in Britain. These are being manufactured primarily for the armed Forces, but there is also some demand for them for civil use. Two twin-engined types are in course of development.
