HC Deb 18 May 1953 vol 515 cc1679-80
24. Captain Pilkington

asked the Minister of Transport whether the order which came into effect on 14th September, 1951, to the effect that lighter notice boards could be used by adult school wardens at street crossings in London for children, can be extended forthwith to the rest of the country.

Mr. Braithwaite

My right hon. Friend proposes to include the smaller sign in the new Traffic Signs Regulations which are now in preparation. Meanwhile, he is prepared to authorise it specially at the request of individual local authorities.

Captain Pilkington

Is my hon. Friend aware that that will be very welcomed, and will facilitate the recruiting of wardens?
