39. Mr. Rankin

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will make a statement about the assault on Mr. C. Guimgam, chairman of the Hong Kong Football Association, which resulted in Mr. Guimgam's death; and what action has been taken by the Government of Hong Kong.

Mr. Hopkinson

The circumstances of Mr. Guimgam's death are still sub judice and my right hon. Friend could not properly anticipate the inquiry by a magistrate which begins in Hong Kong on 18th May.

May we take it that in due course, if a Question is put down, the information will be supplied?
