§ 8. Mr. D. Jonesasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that there are still hundreds of acres of land lying uncultivated on the island of Antigua, West Indies; that large tracts of this land are arable, and suitable for growing sugar cane; and what steps he is taking to see that this land is brought back into cultivation with a view to increasing the production of sugar in the sterling area, and improving the earning capacity of the natives of this island.
