HC Deb 05 May 1953 vol 515 c198
38. Dr. Jeger

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what gaseous elements in fog, besides sulphur dioxide, for example, nitric oxide, are analysed as a matter of routine in London.

The Minister of Housing and Local Government (Mr. Harold Macmillan)

Sulphur gases are measured at a number of London stations as a matter of routine; other gaseous elements are, in comparison, very small, and to measure them would be difficult and expensive.
