asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he anticipates being able, before the Houses rises for the Summer Recess, to make a statement on the control, under the Building Materials and Housing Act, 1945, of the selling price of houses built under licence.

My right hon. Friend is sorry that he cannot add to the answer he gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Orpington (Sir W. Smithers) on 16th June.

In view of the important considerations involved, can we be assured that the statement will be made in good time so that the House can consider it before any changes have to be made effective?
