HC Deb 22 July 1953 vol 518 c371
22. Mrs. Mann

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General the average number of days taken by the Post Office to return savings certificates for cash.

Mr. Gammans

Four working days for ordinary cases and five days for the more complicated ones.

Mrs. Mann

Does that mean that it would be normal to take 10 days between the application and the receipt of the cash?

Mr. Gammans

That would be most abnormal, but if the hon. Lady has a particular case in mind and will be good enough to send it to me, I shall be delighted to have it investigated.
