HC Deb 22 July 1953 vol 518 c356
24. Mr. G. Wilson

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General the average annual profit or loss on a rural telephone kiosk.

Mr. Gammans

There is a loss on rural telephone kiosks averaging approximately £40 per annum.

Mr. Wilson

Can my hon. Friend say how this loss is made up?

Mr. Gammans

My hon. Friend must consider the Post Office accounts as a whole; roughly it may be said that what we lose on the kiosks we make up on the trunks.
