HC Deb 20 July 1953 vol 518 c34
57. Mr. Bullard

asked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been drawn to an accident which took place at Weasenham, Norfolk, on 3rd June, in which three people lost their lives: and whether, in view of the fact that a scheme for the improvement of the dangerous corner there has already been submitted by the Norfolk County Council, he will now make the necessary funds available.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I learned of this accident with great regret. I understand that the Norfolk County Council are preparing a revised scheme for improving road conditions at Weasenham All Saints. Any application which they may make to me will receive urgent attention.

Mr. Bullard

While thanking my right hon. Friend for that reply, may I ask him to remember that there is widespread concern about this corner throughout Norfolk? Will he see that this improvement is not unduly delayed?

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I am well aware of the anxiety.
