41. Sir L. Ropner

asked the Minister of Health how many applications for hearing aids under the National Health Service are outstanding at the latest convenient date in the West Riding of Yorkshire.

Mr. Iain Macleod

At the three hearing aid distribution centres in the West Riding there are now approximately 5,700 applications outstanding.

Sir L. Ropner

Are these outstanding applications gradually being reduced?

Mr. Macleod

Yes. In February, 1952, the waiting list was 11,425, which was rather more than double.
