HC Deb 02 July 1953 vol 517 c577
32. Mr. Gower

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he will make where national committees contain no Welsh representatives.

Sir H. Lucas-Tooth

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which my right hon. and learned Friend gave to a Question by the hon. Member for Anglesey (Mr. C. Hughes) on 25th June.

Mr. Gower

Is my hon. Friend [...] that the opinion is widely held in Wales that there should have been a Welsh representative on the committee dealing with the problem of flooded areas, because Wales is particularly subject to floods and soil erosion?

Sir H. Lucas-Tooth

I am not aware that any suggestion of that kind has been made, but if my hon. Friend will take up the matter with my right hon. and learned Friend I am sure that he will look into it.
