asked the Minister of Labour whether he will extend the periods during which the call-up of agricultural workers will be suspended to assist in the gathering of this year's harvest.

Yes, Sir. After consultation with his right hon. Friends the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Minister of Agriculture my right hon. and learned Friend has arranged for the periods to be extended by three weeks. The periods will now run from 10th August to 14th November in England and Wales and from 17th August to 21st November in Scotland.

Yes, but this is not a precedent for other years.
