§ 1. Mr. Palmerasked the Minister of Education what action has been taken by her Department on the recommendations of the specialist industrial education and training teams, on training of operatives, on training of supervisors, universities and industry, and on education for management, which visited the United States of America under the auspices of the Anglo-American Council on Productivity.
§ The Minister of Education (Miss Florence Horsbrugh)My Department is primarily concerned with those recommendations in the report which affect the work of technical colleges. There is a long-established tradition in this country of close co-operation betwen these colleges and industry, but these reports have certainly helped to encourage further cooperation in the provision of courses of all kinds, including management courses and courses for foremen and supervisors.
§ Mr. PalmerIs the right hon. Lady saying that it is now the policy of her Department to encourage in a positive fashion the establishment of departments of technical schools and colleges for supervisory and management studies?
§ Miss HorsbrughYes, certainly.
