HC Deb 22 January 1953 vol 510 cc380-1
6. Mr. Dodds

asked the Minister of Health, in view of the widespread interest in the efforts that are being made to find a vaccine that will prevent influenza and the common cold, what is being done and what progress has been made.

Mr. Iain Macleod

I would refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave to a Question by the hon. Member for Leicester, North-West (Mr. Janner) on 4th December, 1952.

Mr. Dodds

Has there been no progress to report since 4th December, 1952?

Mr. Macleod

Progress in the sense that the experiment in regard to the influenza vaccine started on 10th December, but, of course, we shall not have the results of that until the 'flu season, if it can be so called, is over.
