HC Deb 24 February 1953 vol 511 cc1994-5

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Clase stand part of the Bill."

Mr. Jack Jones

There is one question I should like to ask. In the opening line of Clause 28 there is the reference to the disclosure of information in relation to a person or persons acquiring parts of the industry. Am I right in assuming that, in the event of a company being taken over by what would be new ownership, the workers in that particular company, if they wished to know the name of the new owner or owners, would have to get consent before they could ask for whom they were working?

The Solicitor-General

The answer to that question can be given very shortly. It is in the negative.

Clause ordered to stand part of the Bill.
