HC Deb 19 February 1953 vol 511 cc1444-5
30. Mr. K. Robinson

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has received the Report of the Runciman Committee on the Economic Circumstances of the London Taxi-cab Service; and when he expects the Report to be published.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

Yes, Sir, very recently. No decision has yet been taken on publication.

Mr. Robinson

Will the hon. Gentleman do his best to hasten publication of this Report, which is anxiously awaited by the people in this service, which is at present in a serious plight?

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

I appreciate that there is a natural anxiety to have this Report available, but until it has been studied I obviously cannot say anything about publication.
