§ 26. Mr. M. MacMillanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland when the Scottish Economic Conference last met; how often it has met under his chairmanship; and when it is to meet again.
§ Mr. J. StuartThe Scottish Economic Conference last met on 12th May, 1950, under the Chairmanship of the right hon. Gentleman the Member for Greenock (Mr. McNeil). No matters for discussion at the Conference have since been suggested by its constituent members, and I see no occasion at present for calling a further Conference.
§ Mr. MacMillanDoes the right hon. Gentleman not think, in view of what is obviously his own attitude towards it, as well as that of his predecessor, that it is high time we wound up this thing once and for all and forgot about it?
§ Mr. StuartI will look into that.
