HC Deb 05 February 1953 vol 510 cc2010-1
28. Mr. Anthony Greenwood

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will refer the activities of the National Association of Upholstery Fibre Processes to the Monopolies Commission for investigation.

Mr. P. Thorneycroft

I could only consider making such a reference if I had evidence that conditions to which the Monopolies Act applies prevail in this trade.

Mr. Greenwood

If evidence is submitted to the right hon. Gentleman will he consider including the activities of this body in the scope of the inquiry to which he referred in his answer to my hon. Friend the Member for Dartford (Mr. Dodds)?

Mr. Thorneycroft

I should certainly be glad to consider any evidence put in front of me.
