HC Deb 05 February 1953 vol 510 c1998
2. Major Anstruther-Gray

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations what official representations he has received from Dominion High Commissioners with regard to overcharging for seats or accommodation for the Coronation.

Mr. J. Foster

I have received no such representations.

Major Anstruther-Gray

While thanking my hon. and learned Friend for that reassuring reply, may I ask him for an assurance that if any such cases were officially brought to his notice he would not hesitate to investigate them?

Mr. Foster

Or they would be investigated by the appropriate Department.

Mr. Bottomley

Would the Under-Secretary ask the High Commissioners whether any complaints have been received at their offices?

Mr. Foster

No, Sir. I think we must rely on the High Commissioners.
