HC Deb 03 February 1953 vol 510 c1642
26. Captain Duncan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what progress has been made in his plans for the siting of slaughterhouses in Scotland.

The Joint Under-Secretary of State for Scotland (Commander T. D. Galbraith)

Following the statement made by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Food on 5th November, the Secretary of State for Scotland is setting up a small committee to advise him, after consulting the interests concerned, on the siting of slaughterhouses in Scotland.

Captain Duncan

How is that committee getting to work; when is it likely to report; and will the report be published?

Commander Galbraith

We hope that it may be set up shortly. As I indicated in my reply, it has not yet been set up.
