Mr. Grimondasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if, as action on the Crofting Commission's Report cannot be taken before the middle of 1954 at the earliest, he will take steps forthwith to meet the salient needs of the crofting counties such as land development, roads, reduction in freight and the development of subsidiary industries.
§ Mr. SnaddenPending the report of the Crofting Commission the Government are pressing ahead with the published programme of Highland development as fast as the resources of the country allow.
§ Mr. GrimondCan I ask the Minister if he will look through the many recommendations, made by the panel and other bodies, which are still outstanding, and see if he cannot press on a bit faster with the implementation of the various recommendations?
