HC Deb 16 December 1953 vol 522 cc369-70
15. Mr. Emrys Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what report he has received from the Falkland Islands about the extent of subversive activities in that territory.

Mr. Lyttelton

None, Sir.

Mr. Hughes

Has not the Minister been rather remiss in his duty as he has not been able to discover one case?

Captain Ryder

Is it not a fact that this is an extremely loyal Colony of which we should be very proud?

Mr. Lyttelton

I cannot add anything to the answer I have given, but the fact that the information is negative does not mean that I have been neglecting my duties.
