§ 25. Lieut.-Colonel Liptonasked the President of the Board of Trade what improved designs in children's footwear have resulted from his request to the British Standards Institution to consider the matter.
§ Mr. P. ThorneycroftA British Standard for children's outdoor footwear was published in October.
§ Lieut.-Colonel LiptonIs the right hon. Gentleman satisfied that the new Standard will do something to diminish the appallingly large numbers of cases in which children's feet are deformed by incorrectly fitting footwear? Does this Standard to which the right hon. Gentleman has referred do anything to remove that danger in the future?
§ Mr. ThorneycroftPerhaps the hon. and gallant Gentleman would study the Standard, which is made by an independent body. I do not, of course, answer for the details of these matters.
