§ 37. Mr. F. Macleanasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the official pamphlet published by the British Commissioner-General in South-East Asia under the title, "Healing Thoughts," represents the policy of Her Majesty's Government.
§ Mr. LytteltonI understand that the pamphlet contains a review by the Commissioner General for South-East Asia of relations between the peoples of the West and those of Southern Asia. It is not a statement of Government policy.
§ Mr. MacleanCan my right hon. Friend say what action he proposes to take in order to make this clear?
§ Mr. LytteltonI have not yet seen the pamphlet. As soon as I receive it, I will make inquiries and see what action is appropriate.
§ Mr. J. GriffithsAs the Press report of the pamphlet seems to indicate a wide expression of very good sense opinion, will the right hon. Gentleman see that copies are made available in the Library?
§ Mr. LytteltonI will certainly put copies in the Library.
