HC Deb 29 April 1953 vol 514 cc2160-1
Mr. Follick

I beg to give notice that on Friday, 15th May, I shall call attention to the importance of the decimal system in schools and commerce, and move a Resolution.

Mr. S. Silverman

On a point of order. Having regard to the results of the Ballot and to the frequency with which it now happens that Members who have been fortunate on one occasion continue to be fortunate on later occasions, would it be possible to amend our Standing Orders to provide that any Member who was lucky in such a Ballot should not be entitled to take part in subsequent Ballots for that Session?

Mr. Speaker

I should not like to give a Ruling on that matter without deep consideration.

Mr. Follick

In answer to my hon. Friend the Member for Nelson and Colne (Mr. S. Silverman), I should like to say that as this is my last Parliament the sequence of luck is not likely to recur.
