Resolution reported,
That it is expedient to authorise the issue out of the Consolidated Fund—
- (a) of the sum of six hundred and fifteen million pounds (instead of the sum of three hundred and fifty-five million pounds) for the permanent annual charge for the National Debt for the current financial year; and
- (b) of any sums required for the purpose of making payments of, or on account of, post-war refunds of excess profits tax by reason of provisions contained in any Act of the present Session relating to finance;
and the borrowing of money under the National Loans Act, 1939, for the purpose of providing any such sums as are mentioned in paragraph (b) of this Resolution.
