HC Deb 16 April 1953 vol 514 c365
34. Brigadier Medlicott

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how soon he now anticipates that the Royal Commission on Capital Punishment will make their report.

Sir H. Lucas-Tooth

My right hon. and learned Friend has been in touch with the Chairman of the Royal Commission, who informs him that the Commission arrived at their conclusions on all the questions referred to them some time ago; that the preparation of the final report, involving, as it does, a close examination of many subjects, some of them highly technical, has necessarily taken a long time; but that it is now practically complete and a large part of it already in the hands of the printers.
